Hey hey! What's up Tharek
![]() There isn't likely to be an update until after I transfer and/or Bianca and I make it to Brazil and back. I don't want to pull the engine out and strip it down if I *might* get word a couple weeks later that we're gunna need to pack everything up and move. Once I know when/where I'm going (and have gotten there) I'll pull the engine out, start to strip it down and then assess the damage. After we get Bianca home to visit her family I'll start getting stuff together for the rebuild. Right now we're just saving monies for the flight and holiday.

Unfortunately she won't be back on the road until at least the spring most likely.. My current plan is to keep the engine as close to how it was built last (I'll reuse as much as possible).
I'll replace the PFC with a Syvecs S8 (at least that's my plan), and I'll replace the stock coils/TwinPower with the AEM IGN-1A coils. If I can get all that done by DGRR than I'll count it as a success since, financially, my wife and I are just barely scraping by right now... she just started a new job though, so that should help a lot. Thankfully I still have my litre bike to give the speed fix, and I've got the Miata for some 4-wheeled fun ![]()

So... No new work has occurred on my car yet... However my wife and I just got home from vacation outside of the country and I've got the (bosses) "go ahead" to start fixing up the FD
![]() My game plan right now is to: 1 - Pull and rebuild the engine. The extent of the damage will be known once it's apart. I'm planning right now on needing to replace the soft seals, the e-shaft, and all internal bearings that could/would be damaged by an oilless environment. Obviously the rotors/housing/irons will be cleaned and checked for damage. Also I'll be checking on the clearances of the apex, side and corner seals. My last engine had it's unfortunate accident in the 3,000-4,000 mile range, so ideally the clearances that were set then should still be pretty damned close to spot on. 2 - Replace the PFC I've been running for years with a Life Racing F88RS. I picked the new ECU up from Glenn (Mazpower), who is now one of the US's newest Life Racing dealers ![]() 3 - Build new wiring harness for the ECU. 4 - Replace my stock coils/HKS Twin Power with 4x IGN-1A coils. 5 - Replace the stock trigger with an FFE Trigger Wheel. 6 - Brew plenty of beer to keep people relaxed and low-stress while this Build v2.0 happens ![]() First things first though... I gotta clean the SHIT out of my garage (as anybody who's been to my place can attest to, lol) and make some sort of work table/bench in there that I can use to work on. Hopefully I'll be adding more updates, with progress and pictures, in the near future ^_^

So... I made a little bit of progress today. With the help of my wife we got the garage pretty much field day'd (clean). I picked up a 3-piece tool chest on Black Friday and I've migrated most of my tools over to that. I'll be getting a decent set of shelves from Home Depot this week, and I'll also draw up plans for my work table (I'm thinking 3'6" tall, 6' long, and 3' deep) then I'll go pick up the wood for it on the weekend.
Car wise, I drained the oil and coolant this afternoon and also removed the oil coolers to drain (SOOO much glitter!!! ![]() I'll keep stripping things out of the engine bay in prep for pulling the motor. Hopefully I'll have the motor out and broke down within the next couple weeks!!
