Yes and no. At highway speeds, the air coming though the rad might be faster and have more volume than what the fan can achieve. What this does is stall the air around the fan, almost like creating a wind blocker, instead of flow. Now, if I set the fan 'on' temp higher, the normal airflow at highway speed should keep the fan from turning on, thus freewheeling and NOT hampering air flow.

I'm going to up the temp at which is comes on and see what happens. Right now it is set to come on at 180, which is too low.

Awesome for the gaskets being possible culprit, not Haltech. . However, if that is something you do is probably for the best.

If you have a good functioning controller, this shouldn't be an issue, especially without a shroud. (@ interstate speeds)

Kyle, have you wired up an EMS before? If not you plan on making your own harness if you get a haltech?

Do you know how to tune an EMS? If not, do you know who you plan on getting you to help with the setup and tune?

True, but if it is blocking the air, then it is getting warm, so the fan kicks on thus creating a viscous circle.
