few questions
When are most putting in cages and putting the helmets?
Is anyone using the line lock to help stage-launch or just the E-brake trick? |

Go buy an NHRA rulebook, it is your friend.
Up to 14.00 you need nothing. 13.99 and quicker requires a helmet (Snell SA2000 or 2005, DOT only not legal) 11.49-11.00 requires a 4-point roll bar 10.99-10.00 requires a 6-point roll bar Also, 13.99 or quicker on slicks requires a driveshaft loop, relocated batteries require sealed boxes and external on/off switches, etc, etc. Get the rulebook, it will make your Tech inspection go a lot smoother!

Yeah, but the crazy thing is, the tracks around here where Sk8world and I run considering filling out a card with your name, car type, and number to be a tech inspection
![]() I remember growing up going to Moroso where the tech inspectors were anal as hell, I was shocked when I reached TN ![]()

the other local track is now requiring mufflers too, but I'm good there. |

sk8world even if they let you run with out a cage wear a helmet just becouse! Its the smart thing to do, and i like haveing someone to post to. I use the line lock to burn out only, and ebrake just to not roll foward and to take the slack out of the drive train. Then its 7800 and let out the clutch on the third yellow and slip slightly. 1.52 and stock axles and suspension. Practice practice practice.

helmets suck for me as my height puts me smack on the top (r-1) with a bucket on..
But I am sure its a good idea.... The cage thing sucks as I have no plans on one going in. But its true tech in AL does not exist... I was asked once were my helmet has and that was it. I plan on doing a few 1/4 events this year and just want to be prepared. Is there a low profile helmet made? Got my et streets mounted today, oh so soft! I just need a few more miles on the clutch and I will hit the 1/8th mile... |

The et's leave alot of rubber dust on the car just driveing so be ware. At the track i would do 15 to 18 psi higher to get used to how it handles on the big end. Let us know how you do and good luck!

Driving on the et's will be very little as I live 2 miles from the track! Last time I ran them years back on the 1320 I remember how scarry it was at the end. The track sucked and bi-ply gives a shitty feel for control! Just need to decide about a line lock now. Before trying to do a burn out with power braking my car would never stay straight. How is it with a line lock?

Alot depends on how wet the water box is, if its too dry it causes me to drift ass a little bit too much. But i release the lock and burn it on out. Some guys burn out at higher gears but with the clutch i have it heats it up too much and it will slip so i do a first gear burn out. I need a twin disc but im useing a stage 3 rps and 6 puck. If you get alot of wobble on the big end i had my alignment guy give me a little toe in and it helped keep the radials from following the rutts in the track.
