Default Rotary Response and Racing Modifications Philosophy

Philosophy on auto repair and modification - Rx for your 7 Rotary Response and Racing.

  • To maintain stock appearance on street cars. (sleeper performance)
  • Replacement component must weight the same or less than the component being replaced. Weight is our enemy.
  • Worst weight offenders – aftermarket Cool looking wheels and tires, worst place to add weight to any car. Unsprung weight.
  • If replacement component weights more than the component being replace it must produce enough increase in HP, time or speed to more than overcome the extra weight
  • Firm believer in factory components.
  • Recommend that if an aftermarket system is used, use their complete setup. All of their components have been designed and built to complement each other for the best drivability and performance for their system.
  • Mix and match (whatever is hottest item in some magazine this week) usually ends up as a nightmare gone bad when it comes to drivability, reliability and diagnostics.
  • KISS – if you have to ask you shouldn’t be working on anything.
  • Don’t believe in lots of chrome, paint or polishing, due to retention or dissipation of heat.
  • Last but not least – Street registered vehicles must past emission testing. Emission systems today are designed to be able to allow high performance and still be clean.
