that is called perforated sheet metal and there are a few big suppliers but if you go to any welding shop in your area chances are they may have some laying around or they could definitely order it for you

Thanks,

I checked into it last week and most suppliers wants me to order min. of 1 full sheet. And they weren't cheap and the shipping was insane! Cheapest I found in aluminum was 150 + 70 shipping for 3 x 8.

Best bet if you aren't in a hurry for it, is to have a fabricator order it for you when they are placing an order. That way you can share the shipping cost with them, instead of paying ALOT of money for freight charges. Also I think that Tull Metals has a place in B'ham. You might check with them. That's where we used to get most of our aluminum when I worked at the waterjet shop here in town.

www.mcmastercarr.com You can find anything there just have to look around for it, and it is usually overnight since it ships from GA. Plus you can usually order small amounts/sizes of stuff.

Phil, hit me up when you have a chance. We just had some pieces like this cut for a custom watercooled VWs radiator shroud. It was less expensive to have it cut than to buy the sheet. Not to mention we designed the mounting tabs in our CAD program and had the waterjet cut it. Might be a different option for you.

I'll check tomorrow and see what i can get a sheet of it for you too.

I guess I'm going to have to weld something to your steering wheel that says "when you need something metal, call Todd...."

Seriously, glad you found something. Let me know if I can help you with anything.
