Default Burning Oil

I bought a Rx8 yesterday and I'm new to the rotary engine scene but when I got up today I check the oil and it was low so I topped it off then drove it roughly 100mi today and got home waited and checked the oil again and it was at half full. Does this type of car just use that much oil or is their something wrong with it.

How many miles on the car? First thing to do is replace coils, plugs and wires.

Yes rotaries burn oil. Usually 1k or so per quart. Depends more on the driving than anything else. Keeping it full throttle will use more.

Be ready for a rebuild. If you are east coast, Kevin of Rotary Resurrection in Tennessee is home of the budget rebuild.
