Hmm... Why is that? (Sorry to derail the thread, I'm honestly curious).

Pressure in the manifold will be a cumulative of manifold and tail pipe pressure. It will always be higher than tailpipe pressure. If you're mapping your fuel map as a MAP v. EMAP, you'll need to know manifold pressure. Tail pipe pressure is useless for this calculation because it disregards manifold pressure. Monitoring tail pipe pressure is only useful in a sense that you want it to be as low as possible and therefore would want to know if it's relatively high.

I feel like there would need to be a LOT of heat dissipation to keep from blowing out sensors if you took readings in the manifold as opposed to the DP.. Sometimes I think life would be more simple without knowledge (Ignorance is bliss and all that... lol)

For EMAP you need a long run of tubing to dissipate the heat before the sensor. Think Pete had some good pics of his own arrangement. AEM sells a kit with a sensor, bung, and SS tubing.

My concern with that would be the potential for a pressure drop due to the turns and distance required to cool the air enough for sensors to last a reasonable amount of time.

More like 24" total. You're overthinking it.

Fair enough. I've had "accidents" as a result of NOT overthinking it in the past, so I figure it might be better to go with the "moar is bettar, because MOAR!" approach (But yeah, the 10' figure was intentionally overzealous, I wouldn't ACTUALLY try to stuff 20' of metal line in there for a pair of EMAP sensors )

We are now onto our 2nd group buy. We have 80 cast manifolds almost finished, and have tweaked the kit a little bit more to improve everything.
