Default Maval Steering conversion...

Just wanted to give everyone the heads up on their customer service.

To begin, I have heard nothing but good things about Maval BUT the experience I have been thru is just aweful.

First off, you will deal with their division called Unisteer Products. The sales rep did NOT seem interested in helping but I still went thru with the order. Most members I have spoken with received their steering rack within 2 to 3 weeks. I am currently going on 6 weeks and still have NO steering rack.

They NEVER call you to provide any kind of update. They repeat the same line everytime you call them to get an update and the "General Manager" that I just spoke with did NOT give a shit if my rack is complete or NOT....He basically said he would send it back to me "as is" if I wanted..

I am under the impression that they have gotten to big and do not care about rebuilding just one rack. To me, when a company forgets about the little people that made them it is a damn shame...I hope they never need us little people again...

So be WARNED.... If you take your FD down for the conversion, have PATIENCE because it will be a long time before it is returned....6 weeks and counting for me..

I will NEVER recommend them.....

That would be unacceptable. Hope you get it back soon.

It really sucks.... I have spoken with a few other members and have heard they have been waiting 4 weeks as of now with NO updates. I can only guess they have no priority with us 7 owners...

I have also heard that Chipmotorsports is doing this conversion as well and their turn around time is 2 weeks.... If either of my sons want this conversion on their FD's, we will definitely be dealing with Chips and NOT Maval... Maval will NEVER get business from me again.... TERRIBLE customer service...

I hate to ask a stupid question, but what would be the benefit of converting your rack to manual?

I understand converting to electronic, but with 275s or bigger up front, you would look like you are lacking a woman in your life after an autocross/road race season. Or am I incorrect here?

Sorry to hear about the long down time too. I know first hand how annoying it can be :\

From what I have read better steering feel, less weight and less MESS....no matter what I do the PS leaks fluid ALL the time from the hoses and fill tank..

I do like my PS for parking but on the track with the skinnie front drag tires it gets a little loose up top with the PS... If I don't like it I can always revert back. I am keeping all my components untill I decide if it was a good move..
