Mazdaspeed Motorsports Program?
I have some general questions about the Mazdaspeed parts program.
here is the link http://www.mazdaspeeddevelopment.com/partsprogram.htm I am sorry if this is in the wrong spot, but the lounge doesn't show up in search results and other may have questions. I am thinking about doing this program but my FC is not in the condition for Auto X yet. Since I am in the Military my weekends are hard to plan in advance so I am not sure how many races I will be able to make. I know it will cover just about any form of orginaized racing. To my questions, How much of a discount do you get on parts? How long does it take to get parts? If I race my daily driver am I still able to apply for the program? What is your over all experience with the program? I have thought about getting a menbership with SCCA for AutoX and other solo events. Thanks in advance. |

The wait will depend on how close you live to a Mazda parts distribution center. In southern California there is one in Ontario. So, within the same shipping zone, parts in stock and ordered before 3pm, you should receive the next day. So, pretty quickly. Yes, Your car needs to be a competition vehicle. You need to provide proof you compete with your vehicle. Mazda does not care what you do with it otherwise. You need to provide Pictures with Mazda designated stickers and a results sheet saying you competed and completed the event. We have used the program for 10years plus with no issues. The staff at Mazda Motorsports are very knowledgeable. Competition Account holders may get special perks with some approved Mazdaspeed Competition shops. The shop I work for is one of them, Tri-Point Engineering. EB Turbo |

What he said. ^
There is no downside. It's a great program. Mazdaspeed directly supports it's pro racing programs with what it earns through this parts support program. So, in effect, you're supporting the pro teams we all love when you use this program. You only need to compete in two sanctioned events a year. That can be autocross, road racing, drag racing, off road, etc. You just have to compete in actual sanctioned events, not test and tunes, open track, or drivers ed events. As mentioned, just email or fax copies of your results and you're good each year. We're in the Louisville, KY area and almost all of the parts we get come from Ontario, CA. So delivery time is usually 3-4 days via ground. FWIW, they're very reasonable on shipping costs and we usually select 2 day service at not much of a markup over ground. Online ordering is easy and they make it very easy to find the part you need with the part fiche on their website. They also have a good selection of aftermarket performance parts. Some at a good deal, some not so much. But, for stock parts, you're not going to find a better deal. If you're car is not ready to compete, you can get started with a build in progress membership. Basically, send them pics of what you're working on and an expected completion date and you're in. Just make sure to stick with the schedule and update with results when you can.
