Talking Sept 29th, 2012 Chris Carlisi Memorial Meet at NJ Motorsports Park!

It's that time of year again....the FIFTH Annual Carlisi Memorial Event is upon us

For those that have attended in past years, the event will largely be the same with a few key additions:

(1) This year you will have the option to sign up for a day on the Lightning course, with four 20-25 minute sessions with Instructors riding along. Beginners are encouraged!

(2) There will be a focus around Chris and his love of RX-7s as well as some basic education around Diabetes.

One other important change is to the method of payment. To register, please paypal $20 per car and $10 per additional passenger (children are free) to: ChrisCarlisiMemorial@yahoo.com. If you'd like a T-Shirt, please include $15 per shirt along with the size you'd like. List your full name, forum name, email address, and short description of your rotary steed. All profits benefit the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation.

Please subscribe to this thread and check periodically as I'll be updating this initial post with new information.

Here is a thread with pics from one of the past year's events to give you an idea of the caliber of cars that have attended (and the huge amount of fun we had!):

http://www.rx7club.com/3rd-generatio...thread-919932/

MORE IMPORTANT INFO!!

Here is the track address for mapquests and GPS:

Directions how to get to New Jersey Motorsports Park | New Jersey Motorsports Park

Please feel free to check out the NJMP site and learn more about the track and the great events that they hold there all year long.

NOTES OF INTEREST:

1>>>Tracking is available both Saturday and Sunday, one or both days
2>>>If you plan to track the car it's highly recommended to have the car inspected at a reputable shop to ensure the brakes/suspension/drivetrain are in good working order. If you fail the required trackside tech inspection you will not be allowed on track!
3>>>Please come with a full tank of fuel, gas stations are not very close to the track and the fuel on track is a bit pricey
4>>>If you have one, bring a folding canvas chair to sit on as aside from the bleachers seating will be limited
5>>>We will be asking for qualified volunteers to assist in the mandatory early-morning Tech session which will be required for all those going on track

****There have been some changes to the timeline so please take a look****

TIMELINE:

Saturday September 29th
8 AM **Gates Open
10 AM **Car Show Judging Begins
12 noon **Lunchtime
2 PM ** Ron Carlisi (and others) Speech on Chris' life and on juvenile diabetes
4 PM **Rotary Insanity Raffle!!!
5 PM **Car Show Winners announced
8:30 PM **Sundown

Throughout the day there will be plenty to do, between checking out the track cars in the paddocks, watching the cars on track from various vantage points, and chatting with other members of the rotary community.

PLEASE NOTE that the track sign-up form and track session schedule will be available SOON :us4allswi

ALSO, we will very soon have information on the recommended hotel to stay at, with preferred rates for our group.

In the meantime, here is a link with more information and a track map of Lighting available via PDF:

http://www.njmp.com/facility/track-maps.html

Upon arrival please make your way to the Registration table, which will be in the parking area and easy to find. Bring with you any parts that you will be donating to the raffle. Track fees will be $200 for each day (Sunday is available also) which includes an instructor for the day. This is for four 20-25 minute sessions each day, and is a very good value. The link just became live, for those who plan to get on track please post in the thread after you sign up

A friendly reminder guys:

If you plan to attend, please paypal $20 per car and $10 per additional passenger (children are free) to: ChrisCarlisiMemorial@yahoo.com. If you'd like a T-Shirt, please include $15 per shirt along with the size you'd like. List your full name, forum name, email address, and short description of your rotary steed. Thanks guys, keep 'em coming . I'll update the paid list shortly.

Also, as she has done in the past, Chris' mother Judie has generously donated funds to be used to buy some awesome car parts. She has great taste, and asked me to order the following goodies for the raffle:

* '99 spec front lip
* Rotary Performance Competition fuel pump
* FD Tein H-tech springs

All parts came from Rotary Performance | Yes, it’s fast., one of the sponsors of the event. It's looking like the raffle is going to be the best one we've seen yet
