1.. the car is missing the air pump belt, and i have no idea for how long its been missing. meaning my luck. the actuators and stuff are stuck on the ports. which is no bueno. cuz no one wants to lose power. haha. whats the chance of you knowing part numbers for all belts ill need and where to get them. i was gonna see about replacing all of them. seeing as how to do the air pump. two of the belts have to come off anyway.

and 2. it has high miles. like 166k high. however it doesnt smoke hardly at all. one of the mufflers has a hole in it and im assuming thats where the little smoke is from. cuz it only smokes from that side. my 87 had 125k and smoked like a siv. my question is, is that good, im hoping cuz i really dont want to change the engine out yet. hes giving me another block, supposedly rebuilt but i have no proof so i dont buy it. but hell its another engine. i was planning on doing a compression test when i get it. but i want a little reassurement from people who know that its p rolly got life left. eveything ive seen was if it dont really smoke even on startup your golden. at least i hope thats the case

1. Contact Ray Crowe at Malloy Mazda 888-533-3400 (ask for parts department and ask for Ray). This guy is the human encyclopedia of RX7 parts and will be more than happy to help you out. Many people on the forums use him for parts.

2. It's going to be really hard to say at 166K miles what is causing the smoke. These motors do tend to smoke a little bit but if it's excessive and/or thick and white then you might have another problems. I'd perform a compression check and check your coolant for oil. If the water seal is gone then you will see some residue in the coolant and you should also see uniform low compression on all three rotor faces (if you have low compression on one of the rotors). Other then that it could be oil seals (blue smoke). As long as it's not smoking excessively I wouldn't worry about it.

If you ever want to rebuild the engine, or are considering it, feel free to shoot me a message and we'll discuss what you want to do.

sounds like a plan. i did come across all the belts. got dayco top cog from my work for 51 bucks for all four. 3 year warranty. =] and then it barely smokes at all. thats what i meant. i was wondering if that was good or not. and the coolant. he said he changed all the oil and coolant and everything didnt say there was an issue or anything. but of course hes a seller. prolly wont. however. i trust him seeing as how he has such a high rating for seller on rx7club. so i pretty much believe that its still good. and actually another question. would you be up for comin down sometime and maybe checking out the spare engine hes giving me. he claims its been rebuilt and was running flawlessly in another car but i have no proof other than his word and i dont know what to look for.

I could do a compression test on it but to really find out what's going on it would have to be torn down.
