One of our customer cars, 20b turbo FD
Here is our 20B project that we have finished up a few weeks ago. Its taken many hours of custom fabrication, and what we feel is a unique approach to a 42R 20B.
Specs-- --C series 20b, All new rotor housings, dynamically balanced, NRS ceramic apex seals, Race rotor bearings, our own oil/ coolant modifications. Circuit Street Port intake and exhaust. --Exedy triple plate clutch --GT42R turbo --Tial 60mm wastegate --Electromotive Tec3R ecu --Electromotive inductive coils --D.A. custom turbo manifold, 321 stainless --D.A. custom 3.5" downpipe and exhaust 304 stainless --D.A. subframe conversion kit, and modified lower intake --D.A custom intake box and filter --D.A custom intercooler and radiator --D.A custom intercooler pipes --Twin setrab oil coolers --Aeromotive kevlar braided oil lines --Twin supra fuel pumps --Aimsports race dash display --Kaaz limited slip diff Ever since the start of this project, the customer and us wanted it to have a full stock subframe. We also all know how much heat a 20b turbo produces, so a V-mount proved essential. After a lot of fitting and measuring, the GT42R turbo combined with stock subframe, a V-mount, and stock trans location proved very difficult. But with a bit of hard headiness, and creativeness it started to come together smoothly. The end result was worth it, placing the turbo backwards! This makes for much less weight over the front axle as well. A custom air box had to be made, and alot of heat shielding was added anywhere possible. Even with back to back dyno runs, the intake temps never got much above ambient. On the street the coolant and oil temps stay very cool, and after lots of hard abuse, never see much past 90C. The spool-up is great, power is broad to 8500rpm. So far its made 575rwhp at 15psi. Here are the pics! AIM sports dash display mounted and wired in. This unit is NICE! Custom undertray. Dyno charts So that is the car, hope you enjoyed it. More pics are in the 20b section.

Hey, I just saw the vid for this on street fire, the car is sick, I love it!
PS: Is there a reason for leaving the stock cluster behind the race display? Was it cost or were the stock gauges necessary for something?

A reverse mounted turbo, now there's something you don't see every day LOL. I never could have imagined that actually haha. Is the hood going to be modified with an air vent of some sort for the intake?
And 575hp at 15psi...ho-ly SHIT. Last edited by speedjunkie; 10-05-2011 at 07:15 AM.. |

Holy canolli. That's quite a feat you guys accomplished by keeping the stock subframe. Congratulations. I can't imagine how many man hours and money went into this build.

Thanks guys It did make 650rwhp at 17psi when it came back for a re-tune. The hood was cut on the underside to take advantage of the RE hood ducts. With the hood shut and air filter in place it lost only 1 hp vs. no filter at all.
