Default Exciting Changes At ReSpeed

ReSpeed has some exciting news for 2011 and we wanted to make this
post to let you all know about it.

As of March 2011, Sam Hammoudeh (AKA dj55b on the forums) has taken
over operations of the manufacturing and shipping of the ReSpeed
product line. Sam’s manufacturing company is based in London, ON
Canada and will introduce the added benefit of a store front for the
ReSpeed line and the customers.

Sam and I have been working on this transformation for over six months
and feel it to be a huge positive for the ReSpeed line in all aspects.
More of the manufacturing can now be handled in house which allows for
increased prototyping and new product offerings. The store front
aspect allows for product installations and a broader group of
offerings by the brand. Strategically placing the shipping hub for the
manufactured items in London relieves the Canadian customers of
inbound duties while not increasing the cost for the USA nor overseas
customers. Many of the brand name items will still be shipped from our
USA warehouse.

Sam has many great ideas for increased products within the ReSpeed
line as well as additional vehicle coverage. Many of you have followed
Sam and his post throughout the years and understand he has the
dedication and forward thinking needed to build upon the product line.
Through heavy planning, the transition has been seamless to the
customers and has been fully completed. We strive for each and every
one of our customers to have a positive experience and you were the
highest priority.

I have enjoyed developing products and building a company that serves
the greatest group of automotive enthusiast around. When the ReSpeed
line started in 2004 it was in reaction to fill a need within a
forgotten set of unique vehicles. Thanks to a great group of customers
it is accomplishing that and has grown each and every year since. I
set out on a mission to offer top quality products with the respect
and honesty you guys and gals deserve. Introducing the standards and
methodologies from professional level motorsports into our products
was and will continue to be our flair.

As I have accepted a new position that requires my day to day
attention I will not be able to give to the ReSpeed line what it
deserves. The opportunity was simply too great to pass up and is
something I have been striving for and building up to for years. I
will still be involved with the product line and new part development.
You will still see me active on the forums as time permits and will
still be happy to answer any technical PMs . After all I have been a
rotorhead since the late eighties, and as we all know, that does not
subside easily.

A sincere and deep thank you to all the customers, past and future,
that have help build a truly unique company and product line. I know
that without you ReSpeed would not be alive.

See you at the track!
Billy Waits

Hey Guys,

I know its one of those things that may seem hard to believe because it sounds too good but it really is happening!

The new shop address is:

RE-Speed / SHQE Manufacturing
179 Exeter Road Unit J
London, Ontario N6L 1A4
Canada

I'm still finishing up a few things at the shop but hope to be fully done by the end of the week. Until then, there won't be any real business hours or anything. When everything is finalized I would like to maybe hold a meet sometime shortly after that either right here at the shop or somewhere near by with a bigger parking lot. We will most likely also wait a bit till the weather warms up so more people show up. I'll post up some pictures of the shop when I'm done.

As Billy mentioned we have been working long and hard to make this happen as seamless as possible and I hope we have achieve that. I will be doing all the welding in house now and also most of the lathe work. I would like to bring in the mill work in here, just need to find a good machine at a good price to do it with. Having all the machines and welding in house will also enable us to make custom piece for customer that are bringing their cars here to be worked on and also should reduce the 2-3 week shipping time shipping time on the built to order RE-Speed parts

Also as mentioned, new product and car type coverages will be available. Some of the biggest RX-7 parts that I'll be working on are the Rotrex Supercharger that I have already started a thread for here somewhere, and secondly a direct replacement fuel cell / tank for first gens vehicles. The plans for the tanks are to have at least 2 version (direct stock replacement with no additional baffling than stock, and a race version to give you the best on the track without hopefully cutting out on fuel in turns). To make the tanks even more exciting and customizable, interchangeable tops will be available to give you the option to run in tank or external fuel pumps and barb or AN fittings. We will try to make them meet FIA standards for the people requiring that certification, but no promises until we start developing the tanks and seeing how things will turn out. Other vehicles will include the RX8, and possibly Mazda 2 parts but that may not run under the RE-Speed name as it doesn't apply well unless we toss a rotary in there!

Me and Billy will still be in touch (Probably mostly to help me learn a bit more of the RX2 and RX3 product line as they are the ones I'm not the most familiar with having never played around with them), and have become good friends over the years and I'm sure many more years ahead from now on.

I look forward to this great new opportunity to help out more rotor heads and I hope I can maintain my standard of knowledge of our cars as high as Billy has set the bar for me.

Whoa. All of a sudden!

Congrats to all involved. Although now ReSpeed is much further away from me

Can't wait to see what is coming soon from you guys. ReSpeed parts are top notch, and I will be in the market very soon for a complete BBK for my FB.

Forgot to state in there that the new email address to contact me is:

shqemanufacturing@gmail.com

There will be a dedicated shop number as well as the one listed which is my cell phone number, you can send me text messages also if you wish on there if that is cheaper for some people instead of calling.

the fuel tank topper idea is certainly interesting as i have two rally car 1st gens and putting a fuel inside the cabin is regulation suicide. Ill see what comes of that for sure.

I'm sure well come up with a good idea. The intank pumps will most likely have 2 ways of going, one with the bosch 044 pump which is extremely common and the second would be with a cheaper walbro pump probably.

I would not say I "sold out". It came to a time where someone else needed to move it forward. I am still around. Still a rotorhead. Just means I have the time to finish the REPU project and go racing in 2011.
