[FS] 1988 RX7 Turbo
Hi. Was referred to this forum from another member. I helped start Traction Optional in Memphis, TN, from anyone around that area that is familiar with it.
Need to sell my RX7. It currently will not start. It turns over, and it DID run, but for some reason might be electrical or maybe the throttle is stuck, I'm not sure. Should not take much money to fix it though because it was running up until a couple months ago....brief history on the car is I bought it a couple years ago from RX7club, car needed alot of work, so got it fixed and modified, but never drove it. It had the intermittent starting problem back then, but after I sold it, it seemed to work...got it back from the guy I sold it to recently after some issues, and now it still has the starting issue. Maybe he just had better luck than me in getting it to start....I really don't have the time to diagnose the issue but it always sounds like it wants to start and then for some reason its either not getting spark or some other deal. Good: Rebuilt motor by Rotary Resurrection with mild street port Larger secondary injectors True manual steering conversion (new rack at the time I had it done, super rare) Project Mu brake pads Rota D2 wheels with BFG KDW2 tires Racing Beat turboback exhaust S5 turbo and manifolds SS clutch line Maxdatrix motor/tranny/diff mounts Adjustable swaybar endlinks DTSS eliminator bushings Stock LSD (yes it does work) SAFC controller (it is currently reading partial throttle so I think something got stuck so maybe thats why it doesn't start) Upgraded fuel pump and wiring Emissions all removed and properly blocked off with plates Engine gaskets replaced Rebuilt starter Fuel cut defenser ALL work was performed by Ranzo @Grip Video and Forrest @Dynospeed Racing. Bad: Needs paint job Console is messed up and needs to be replaced Driver side door handle needs to be replaced or fixed Windows roll up slowly, maybe dirty tracks? Doesn't start Shifter a little loose. Probably needs new spring Needs new rubber hangers for exhaust Title is clean and clear. I need to sell this car ASAP. Please post up some offers. 3k OBO Would possibly part out the motor/trans for somebody local, but you'll have to do the removal yourself because I don't have the equipment. Best way to contact me is by email (frank.s.yu at gmail.com) or you can text me 901-848-7215 Frank Located in Memphis, TN. Prefer local buyer but willing to ship at your expense |

Decent looking FC.
So you know Forrest at Dynospeed? Do you know Justin Smith, used to have a black Lightning, then a black Mustang GT, and now has a white Lightning?

Yea Forrest is a friend of mine... yup I know Justin too, but haven't talked to him in ages. I knew him when he had the black Lightning.

Because it is LOL....drove this thing home from Nashville. Put a lot of money into it since then, but I couldn't ever figure out the starting problem. When it does start (the problem is intermittent but I couldn't figure out how to get it to consistently start), it pulls hard and drives great.

It is such a small world, that even though it has been YEARS since Dustin sold it, and it has changed dramatically, there are still signs that tell me whose car it was.
I gave him those sport mirrors
