Default Just bought my first rotary car

Hello, just bought my first rotary car.. a 2004 mazda rx8 with the 6 speed transmission.

The car has 40k miles on it, and I didn't get any service history with the car. Why would the oil dipstick be completely covered with a foamy substance? I can't read the oil level of the car because of this.

Good choice on the rx8!

The foamy dipstick is nothing to be worried about. It usually happens in colder temps and if you take the car on short trips.

Remember also to completely warm up the car before driving and turning off the car.

If you go to a mazda dealer they should be able to pull up all the service work they have ever done. I would think you could get it for free. I would Consider getting the coils checked they have a short life span and if they go out they can mess your cat up .
