Good front speakers?
I'd like to upgrade my front speakers. There are some cheap Jensen speakers in the front right now, and they are installed with an adapter plate kind of thing. With that adapter plate though, the speakers hit the door panel when installed and won't fit without the plate. Are there any decent speakers that will bolt up to the stock plastic speaker holder things? Preferably airtight against it.

Forgot to add that I have the standard audio system, and NOT the Bose.

![]() Here's the door panel with the speaker grill off. The door panel isn't sitting flush on the door here. I can install the door panel still, but I need to force it just a little bit to flex it. |

Hey those are cool, I've never seen those. Those actually replace the entire plastic housing for the front speakers. The ones I have are just a simple plate with different mounting holes that screws to the plastic housing, then you screw the speaker on. That one definitely looks like a better solution. I wonder if those sit flush against the door, which I doubt they are. The surface where it screws too isn't flat, so the MDF would have to be cut perfectly to fit. I think you may have an issue with the speaker magnet hitting the window also, so possibly speaker options might be slimmer.

How did you guys install them? Did you use some kind of adapter plate? It looks like the Infinity's only have 4 mounting holes, and the FD has 3, so I don't see how that would work.
