Yeah, I am a pretty active Tennspeed member. Most of the guys coming down do drive Hondas, but they are pretty good guys and have pretty clean cars for the most part. Can't vouch for all, but it shouldn't be a problem

Even if it is a bunch of honda's, I don't think they will top the 90+ (and still growning) Mazdas that will be attending DGRR. Best case is, it is a bunch of good guys and most will be hunting for a rotary after the event.

The only issue with the guys from Tennspeed is that they are YOUNG and act like it. I just hope they do not ruin it for us. I know Phil does not need the headache. The event was posted there in the Events section, but I do not believe any of them are actually paying attendees. I could be wrong though, Phil would know for sure.

I dont' think they are, one of the posts on that thread states they are not a part of DGRR he just scheduled it at that time so there would be plenty of cars for people to see. Also mentions how DGRR is a paid event where theres is a donation for hotels etc.

The only thing that really concerned me was end up with some Kid in whatever kinda car headed in your direction out of control!

I know about the Tennspeed list, but have they paid Phil to be in the Official DGRR 2008?

No. They are doing a Poker Run from Nashville to the Gap. They decided to coincide the event with the Rotary Rally because they thought it would make a good opportunity to use there photography skills and see some slick cars. They aren't staying with us or anything, just enjoying the view 8)

No they haven't registered.. And i'm also crossing my fingers that they will behave...

Please let them know that parking will be tough and it might be farther away. Also, let them know not to come by before 11 as we would be setting up all morning..

Phil, I went ahead and posted this on Tennspeed....

Hey guys,
Here is a direct request from Phil (Herblenney), Organizer of the Deal's Gap Rotary Rally going on the same weekend as a Poker Run.

1.Please be safe.
2.Parking will be tight at the actual rotary meet so for those who wish to come by and view the cars, you may have to park some distance away.
3.Please wait till after 11am on the 12th to come by the rotary meet site as they will be preparing and setting up until then.

Can't wait to see you all there.

I dont MIND another group being there, its public roads so we wouldnt have much say. My only problem is going to be that if we are paying for our event and they muck it up - I will NOT be happy and I am NOT a fun person when honda people piss me off. Just saying.

Otherwise, let them come and see the cars - so long as they know who's weekend it is and they dont cause any problems for Phil and the resort... I know being an organizer can be stressing and I'd hate for some yee-haw 16 year olds to come by and ruin our day of friendly rotary gatherings!

^I really doubt it will be an issue. I mean, at last years event, we had local kids in Hondas and stuff tagging along. Hell, I almost got rear-ended by a Trans Am when we approached the 90degree turn on Hellbender, but it happens . Plus, since we are staying so far from the Gap, I kinda doubt they will be staying at the same place
