Default Gas mileage, what you getting?

In my '89 GTU, (S5 mild port n/a, with RB mufflers an presilencer, emission's removed, AC components removed, aux sleeves an actuating rods removed, vdi open, heat-shielded cone air filter, 1/2oz. per gallon premix.) usually the range is from 18-25 MPG.

But with the latest tank, I got 27.6 MPG! Which is the highest I experienced in this car.

On a regular day, the breakdown is probably...
With city driving, I get about 18-20 mpg.
Hwy & city, I get 20-22 mpg.
Out of town RX7 meet or out of town trip, I get 22-25 mpg.

But the latest tank I did, out of town trip, and hwy & city driving.
Averaging 70 mph on the hwy.
And got 27.6 mpg.

Someday...30mpg...someday.

I'm getting 18-20mpg city (15mpg on good days) and up to 25 hwy.

Intake, RB header, midpipe and HKS 52mm catback. Pineapple Aux. sleeves, SAFC (tuned to 11's = ~ 150rwhp), no premix, Avg 75mph.

Good numbers BTW. 30 MPG seems doable.

Right about 14 - 15mpg strictly city driving...
It'll creep up to about 17 - 18mpg once I start jumping on the freeway more.

13BT

stock turbo
stock IC
11 - 12psi
Haltech E8
240hp at the wheels on a Dyna Pack

Avg'ing right around 20-24mpg on a stock block with out emissions running a RB header/presilencer and a straight pipe into a cheap ebay muffler, SAFC with about 10% fuel knocked out at idle to -4% at redline(still need too actually tune it better), an intake leak of some kind, either a gasket or one of the lower injector grommets, no ac/ps. And average MPH is 80+ during interstate travels and 60ish around town. 1-2 gear is always redlined before a shift, and sometimes 3rd as well. But i hope to better my numbers soon with a better CAI, instead of the cone on the end of the intake tube in the hot bay. Car also has an FD alternator an a ford escort Efan. Still need to get around to getting a cleaned/flow tested set of injectors installed and tidying up things but its driven everywhere I want it to go.

I believe 27.6 all highway. I get 24 mpg all highway and that's on an untuned N/A. A good tuning on a TII that stays out of boost can hit that. Now whether or not he actually got it, who knows. But I say it's possible.

I do not dive mine enough to keep track that well, but on the way back from DGRR, I averaged 28.5 MPG.

S5 TII, no emissions, RB DP & silencer, Apexi N1 EVO catback.

I've gotten calculated 28mpg, and it should've been more like 30mpg cause I didn't drain the gas tank all the way down.
The trip OD hit 400, and typically fill-ups were about 13 gallons - you do the math.
Since I was doing such long distance driving, I wasn't going to take a chance and drain the gas tank that low - i.e. the fuel-low warning light never came on.
If I really wanted to push it, the car would've easily hit 30mpg.
This is driving between Sacramento, CA and Las Vegas, NV 100% freeway at speeds of 60mph to 80mph, just under the point where the secondaries kick in at 3,500RPM.
Back then it was stock ECU (well, reprogrammed G-Force unit) with full exhaust on a 1987 Turbo II.

Side note, I was able to hit 200 miles on a 10 gallon fill-up's.
I only fill up 10 gallons at a time, and it makes calculating mileage easy now.
Still tweaking the Haltech E8...
