Rx2 + 700 Miles = F*cking DGRR here I come, I hope. progress threqd.
My Rx2 hasn't been driven more than 5 miles since I owned it. Which has been a few years. It dosnt run right now and the front end is COMPLETELY taken apart. But I'm driving this damn thing to DGRR.
Here is my progress/build thread on the other forum. Way to many pictures to re-do it completely. Most of you here are there as well, so here's a link. http://www.rx7club.com/old-school-ot...73-rx2-984536/ I'll update here as well from now on. Who's caravan-ing from the Orlando or Central Florida area?

Awesome!
I know, since I been wanting to do this for years, that they do caravan starting from somewhere in Miami all the way up. Have you ever linked up with a large caravan before? I'm not sure how it all goes down?

I decided to make my own velocity stacks for now. The car will eventually become turbo as I do with everything. So these are being made in a way that they will become part of the plenum later on down the road.
First I turned down the body and made a step downed portion to fit into the Weber where it had been machined by Racing Beat. Then cut the OD and length. I made them 4.500" taller than the Webers with the stepped down portion being .500". Then I made a press die to create the air horn shape. And pressed them to shape. One got a little slanted in the press and crushed the stepped down area so I had to make another. [/QUOTE]

I made some plugs today for the now useless trailing plug holes. I basically used my spare Rx8 plugs and removed the ceramic and associated crap from the rear of the plug. Then welded a piece of sheet metal to close it up. Then finished it off in the lathe to look like an actual bolt head. For the other end I also welded it shut and finished off the end. I will make a "cooler" set in the future. But there will get the car running for now.

Here's a pic of how the oil lines fit. You can see just above the lower oil cooler line I marked a spot I was going to originally mill a radius in, but it fit without having to. And above that the 180° fitting sits in its spot.
And a shot from above. I am debating on adding a brass washer to the passenger side oil cooler line that is exiting the oil cooler. It just almost a perfect strait line to the front cover line. It's less noticeable in person. But this picture bothers me enough to make it perfectly strait....lol

And one final shot of the stacks installed in there finished state. I took a scotch brite pad to the inside and radius the edge of the bell mouth on the lathe with a file. They look much more professional with those two minor touches.
