SMIC upgrade, feedback welcome
I wanted to offer something that's easy to install,(smic) and costs less than whats available on the market currently. No custom piping required with this intercooler, simply bolts in the factory location in minutes. no cutting, chopping , fabricating, or relocating necessary.Intake temperatures are reduced by 40 degrees (sometimes more) with this USA made turbonetics/spearco bar and plate core that we start with. As shown in the pictures, when compared to a stock unit, the upgraded intercooler is one inch taller and a full inch thicker, aiding in keeping the air temps down. nice key feature of this cooler is quality and fitment is top notch, no china crap here! All aluminum construction insures no more cracked end tanks,and/or leaking end tank seals like the factory cooler struggles with.. in my opinion, one of these units used in conjunction with a water/ meth kit would net the quickest boosting, coolest intake temps you could get!
taken from spearco's website Air to air intercooler cores feature a high effectiveness ambient and charge air fins with a low-pressure drop. Pressure drop in an air-to-air intercooler is very critical in today's high output sport compact cars. The bar and plate design offers exceptionally high pressure capabilities for today's , high boosting race applications. Uniquely designed fins allow Spearco intercooler's to provide minimal ambient air pressure drop while allowing maximum cooling to your engine

The factory ducting always seemed a little bunk to me. I think that if you guys fitted a good duct with this than it would be a def win for people that wanted to keep their cars near stock!

Here is another option to smic fitment . Fitment takes 1hour .
Comes with hoses and ast bracket and carbon ducting for better airflow cooling to cores . Holds intake temp stable 35degress to 8000rpm in 4th gear at 19 psi . |
