hitachi 4 bore carb issue
The secondaries on the above carb ('74-'77) don't open because the "secondary diaphragm ass'y" is missing, and I can't find a replacement.
I am interested in converting the secondaries to a mechanical action, but don't know how to connect/wire them. Can anyone help me here? |

hitachi 4 bore carb issue
Dear Mr. "C"
Thanks for taking the time to address my issue but, you referred me to RX7 manuals available from Fox. Well, first of all I don't think that the 4 bore Hitachi carb was used on the RX 7 (cuz mine is from a '76 REPU). Secondly, those manuals are not available anymore . I tried to download the '80 RX 7 one and---no dice. Lastly, would a factory manual really tell us how to convert a vacuum operated secondary system to mechanical? Any other ideas anyone? |

I am going to tinker with mine tomorrow. Sorry for the delay, been busy lately.
When I was rebuilding mine, I was looking for ways to convert it to mechanical. I even went so far as to post on 7club to get an answer. Seems nobody has done it, or if they have, they're not talking.

OK bowjangles YES the 76 Repu FSM is there proving you don't read and are incapable of or to lazy to learn anything on your own. Yes not learning anything about it will make it difficult for you to modify a simple carb.
Every post you have made on this forum is help carb so I figured you would bother to click a link to learn something. Instead you act a shit. Download the 76 manual and go to page 100 that is where "Fuel System" starts. Read it! Good luck

Chibi is grumpy.
But he's right. The REPU uses the same basic carb. So check that FSM out. However, my Cosmo FSM doesn't go into a whole lot of detail on the carb.

Not grumpy at all.
Its all there even for the Cosmo it is the same carb. 76 FSM Page 100 If you make the linkage make sure to try and keep the secondaries opening at either 50% or at the same time as the primaries. There will be parts to strip off the carb that you will no longer need but thats all listed in emissions controls and Fuel system.
