1976 Mazda Cosmo (RX5) with parts car
I'm selling my 1976 Mazda Cosmo (96210 miles) along with a spare parts car. Brake job recently done and car will pass inspection no problem.
It has the 4 port 13B which was rebuilt some time ago with all new seals and springs. Plates were ground, lapped and re-nitrided. Street ported intake and exhaust with NRS 3mm 2pc ceramic apex seals. An MSD runs direct fire to the leading plugs and the trailing runs off the distributor. 3 MSD blaster coils provide a powerful spark. OML racing plug wires (lowest resistance on the market) Breaker-less distributor is locked out with proper advance timing for best performance. IC reg built in alternator. High flow Carter fuel pump located in the trunk. Ceramic coated custom header with 1/8" wall tubing, ID matches the rotor housing port. Engine currently breathes through a modified Weber 51 IDA two barrel down draft racing carb. Carb was bought brand new as a 48 IDA and was then bored to 51mm with an enlarged float bowl and 3mm glass ball needle valve on a Tweak-it intake manifold from Australia. Cars can be sold with stock rebuilt carb and intake for $1000 less IE $4000.00 Or I can supply it with RB side draft manifold and 45 DCOE or 44 PHH or 50 DCO-SP, will negotiate price. The doors on the running vehicle are starting to rot through but the parts car has nice doors so no problem there. The parts car frame rotted at the steering box but could be easily repaired with a fish plate to get her on the road again. I have some extra parts that will go with them if wanted. Rotors, housings etc and any spare parts I have will go with them. I have 2 brand new windshields that will also go with the cars. Running car has cracked windshield but is still good for a long time before needing the windshield replaced. New windshield can be installed for free at Crackmasters in St. Albert. Summary of highlights: - NRS 3mm 2pc Ceramic Apex Seals with twin Stinger hard faced springs $1400.00 value - 13B Ported intake and exhaust ports - Port matched ceramic coated header - Modified 51 IDA Weber carb with enlarged float bowl and 3mm glass ball needle valve $1400.00 value - MSD direct fire on the leading plugs - 3 MSD Blaster coils - OML racing spark plug wires - Tweak-it intake manifold - High flow Carter fuel pump - IC reg built in alternator - Locked out breaker-less distributor - Brand new battery - Last new dash pad available from Mazda - RARE $5000.00

Hi i am Lorenzo,
I live in Imola, Italy. I own a 93 silver FD since 2005; In 2007 Diego Finelli has performed a total rebuilding of the engine, electrical system and vacuum circuit including sleeves. I'm looking for a Cosmo AP/CD/121/RX5 or a 20b Eunos Cosmo; I am very passionate about these cars. QUESTIONS: The green/grey is still for sale? The rust is present only in the doors? The windshield is slightly damaged or is completely unusable? I did not understand what the problem has steering? Thanks |

Hi Lorenzo,
Yes the car is available. Correct the rust is only on the doors but the parts car (brown car) has good doors. The windshield on the grey car is still good, it has a crack but was repaired by crackmasters so it wont get worse. The cars come with 2 new windshields. There is nothing wrong with the steering on the grey car. It is the parts car (brown car), the frame rotted next to the steering box but this can be fixed with a fish plate.

Ok!
As for the engine, i understand that no particular problems and that you replaced various components, but..The engine has never been rebuilding(apex seals, housing, rotors)? The purchase of the car, also includes other components? Includes components taken frod brown cosmo? Perhaps you can arrange shipping? Otherwise i can organize it.. Thanks Lorenzo |

The brown car is a parts car and comes with it. With all that is included engine wise you are basically getting the 2 cars for free. Surprised this isn't gone long ago

It's probably best if you take care of the shipping

I think I will have to buy one of these one day.
Any reason you are not using the now redundant but less resistive leading spark path through the dizzy for trailing? Only has to jump one gap going down centre post with carbon contact to dizzy rotor. I realize it might not make much difference to spark quality with the (assuming) MSD CDI but it might make your HT leads last a bit longer, it certainly won't hurt. |

So, if i understand correctly, $4500 for sell two cars..!
Now, i inform my italian importer, because he's based in New Jersey.. P.S. Would it be possible to have only the "good" components rem8ved from brown cosmo? |

What exactly do you mean by good components? I wasn't planning on stripping the car down as that is a lot of work and I do not have the time for that now. Then I am stuck with what is left and would have to deal with that because I cannot have a scrap vehicle around the property, my neighbors would not stand for that.

No Eunos Cosmo's were produced in North America. Yes I make the ceramic apex seals for the engines
