2004 GT Milky/fuel smelling oil
This is my Father-in-laws car. He has an 04 8 GT 6 spd. Now, for the past few months, it was winter, so every 2 weeks, he would start it and let it run. He went to check the oil yesterday after doing some driving around, and it is like a milkshake and smells like fuel. I have never had this on my FD, but milky is usually a sign of coolant, but the car isn't smoking at all and there isn't any coolant loss. I do know that on the bottom of my oil cap, I will get a milky residue on the FD and it will smell a little of fuel, but the milkiness is due to condensation....any thoughts?

Yep! Its normal. Mine used to do it during colder days but now its stopped.
I should state.. Same oil that had this milky fuel smell no longer has it.. as outside temp change.

Its not really a "problem" per se though. Even the dealership service bulletin states only perform the fix if the customer requests AKA - if customer is nagging, go ahead and fix
Mine is doing it now again with the colder weather, but it goes away after it reaches warmer than 40 or so at night which isnt until March! |

just cause it's a TSB doesn't mean they will do it under warranty, my dealership said 600 bucks to put on the breather. Some people have done it and still get the condensation.
To sum it up tell him to keep driving and checking his oil and he'll be golden. |
