86 turbo starting issues. Trying to sell!! Please help me out!
I have a 1986 gxl that has been rebuilt, with an extended street port and the addition of a turbo from an 88. The car is all hooked up. There are so many
Mods I'd have to email them. I'm having trouble starting the car. Like it's not getting proper fuel at first or something. I crank and it turns over and for it to start, I have to vigorously press the gas over and over. Sometimes I may have to do this 2 or 3 times. Also once it's started. I press the gas and it stutters as if it wants to stall for a second or two. Then finally responds. I don't know what's going on. I'm trying to sell the car but it will be difficult if I can't make it start! If you have ANY ideas or advice please contact me. Thank you! |

So what size injectors do have installed?
What fuel pump? What ECU upgrade? Haltek? Megasquirt? etc. Or is it stock?

1) Find a competent shop that can take care of this headache.
2) Fork over the money to get it fixed. Seriously, I don't know why people get into projects that are in over their heads. Dump the headache and take the loss. You seriously think you're going to get free advice to solve all your problems without paying us a cent and then make your money? The possibilities are endless. Even several hundred emails isn't going to solve the problem. It can be anything from a blown engine to electrical problems to who knows what... -Ted |

wow. I thought this forum was to try to get help and help others.
Do you have a compression tester? if you do do a compression test. If you have a boost get check to see what the vaccum is at once it is started. when I swapped in my Turbo motor I had issues with it starting because I had a lot of vaccum leaks. |

I don't know if you are aware of it, but, these things flood quite easily, especially if you have the stock ecu. That's why everyone is asking what setup you have in order to help you.
