Default Hi

Hey guys I am Lee and I am a little new to rotaries. I bought a 2005 red shinka RX-8 back in December. I have always like the looks of the RX-8 but I absolutely fell in love with the car when I test drove it and the rest is history so to speak. Anyway I was actually going to go to deals gap and I was looking for through their web site I saw the event for the meet next week (when I was actually going to go lol). I am new to rotaries so I would like to learn all I can about upgrading modifying and maintaining them as I can. So I look forward talk with you guys further and possibly meeting some of you at DGRR 08.

So now I am a little confused. I swear when i looked up the Vin info on the car it said it had a shinka package which meant nothing to me at the time. But after some research I just did i seems that it is not a shinka. Forgive me I am a n00b. I don't think I got ripped because i got a great deal on it but now i wish i had the shinka package because the 8 looks sick in that color. I have all the other goodies that would have come with it though like the bose sound system. Sorry about the mix up.

I was about to mention that. Shinkas are a deep cherry red but it's still a good car. What are your plans?

Not too sure. I would be interested in increasing the low end torch and getting some more horse power out of it. Maybe put a turbo on it. However I wont be able to do anything to in for a couple of years. I need to save some money for college but once i graduate in two years i might look at some modifications. Or if some of the rumors i have been seeing about engine modifications in 2010 or a RX-7 remake with even more horse power I would have to pick one of those up if I can afford one. A RX8 style car assuming it still has the same great handling with 300 horses would be able to keep up with if not beat porsches.
