Anyone have any thoughts, or input on this idea?
my best friend Jeff, RIP, loved cars a lot.
His favorite one of all time, was the Toyota Supra. I troll Japanese auction websites, and I see base model Supra's with no damage, low KM's, and in reasonably good condition get sold for very little money. I also see JDM JSECE's get sold for anywhere from $300, to $3000 or more, but, I was thinking... Why not stick a 20B, into a Supra? am I just a really big idiot? or, has no one else ever thought of this? I think it would be a fun project to take on, because I want to build my late friend Jeff, a Supra, BUT, I don't like piston engines. https://fbcdn-sphotos-a.akamaihd.net...93819_5170.jpg That's Jeff. I miss him a lot. He is in a better place now, but, I still want him to live on in my own personal life, in some way. If anyone can give me any advice, or anything about this idea, I would appreciate it muchly. By the way, the Supra would be a V Mount, not FMIC. Also, primarily used as a street car with 3 balls, I mean rotors. |

Being a heavier car, I would say at LEAST a 3 rotor, hell you could even do a 4 rotor if you have the money. You would probably piss off a lot of Supra owners, but who cares haha. DO IT!

Supra
Curb weight: 1,460 kg (3,219 lb) (non-turbo) 1,550 kg (3,417 lb) {turbo} RX-7 Curb weight: 1,282 kilograms (2,830 lb) Is the weight difference really that bad??? Wouldn't the weight be hard to measure, because, the 2JZ would be ripped out, with the transmission also, and replaced with a different platform... Hmm... I'ono, I see base model Supra's get sold in Japan for less than $3000 consistently, and I also see JCESE's get sold for anywhere from $300, to $5000... The money doesn't matter, my friendship with Jeff was priceless. |

Actually I was thinking it was heavier. The weight really isn't that much different. I was thinking it was closer to a Mustang or Camaro.
I'd still do a 4 rotor if money is no object though LOL. That would be ballin. What model Supra, Mark 3 or Mark 4? Where are you anyway? Are you in Japan? And what is a JCESE? I don't know that term. |

Wikipedia FTFW!
A JCESE is a Mazda Here, look at the bottom(ish) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mazda_Cosmo#1990_-_1995 Mark 4 ONLY no chance in Hell I would put a 20/26B into that old box... gross man... 20B AE86 yes, but, not the Mark 3. I live in Canada, however, I am connected to Japan, VIA the phone, and internet. www.japan-partner.com is who I deal with, I have access to JDM auctions, and I frequently look at cars online. I really want to put a 20B in my FD, But, if I ever take out a loan to travel and invest, then, I would go to Japan, and buy things, then bring them back, legally, and profit.

Oh the Eunos Cosmo...hell yeah, I'd love to have one of those too. And hey, there is nothing wrong with a Mark 3, I think those are sexy too haha.
Oh OK, I have no idea what Canada's importation laws are. I guess they're a little more lenient than U.S. laws considering you can get the whole RHD there haha. |
