Default I am here to say Hello

I met two wonderful members from here to do a transaction up here at Ft Campbell who recommended me. Honestly I wanted to join this site years ago, but I figured I wouldn't belong here.

I met Darrel and Charles here at Ft Campbell when they came to pick up my 12a. It was a very dramatic day as I overslept until 1pm when they called me which meant that I was AWOL. Something that never happened to me in 8 yearws of service. Granted I was sick with a 103* fever but it was weird.

Anyway, I felt bad for unintentionally blowing them off while I went to report in and get a very verbal reprimand.

I joined this site finally when Charles had told me it didn't matter that I sold my soul. so here I am.

anyway, I have 1979 RX7 (very beautifulo machine actually) that I have swapped a LS1, T56, and 8.8 into. I am here to get more info into my next build which will be a TRUE RX8 turbo that I will build.

I have always been a rotory fan but on my first gen I wanted to go a different route. It is hard to explain exactly where I am goin gbut it is UNIQUE in it's own right. Even the swap guys can't give me advise.

And yes, I am drunk while writing this.

Good to see you here Shawn!

Yes, that SA is a beautiful ride, and with the FULL driveline swap you are doing, it will be a MONSTER for sure.

It's all good that you couldn't hang with us while we were picking up the goods, but I am glad you got your business handled, and I am glad your roomates were gracious enough to help us out.

yeah, like I said, I really NEEDED a "rotard" (no offense intended SERIOUSLY) to talk to me. I originally intended to have a 10 minute load up time and a 1/2 hour talk time. I needed an expert on older sevens to help me with my car and for someone to ACTUALLY discuss what I am doing and plan. You don't understand how many stupid people come up to me saying OMG your car is awesome but have no clue wtf they are talking about. That is Chevy AND Mazda fans.

It is pure craziness that I was robbed hours after you guys left (I know for a fact it wasn't you so no worries on me suspecting).

Today I went in to fix my offset and alignment and I broke a spindle I now have 225/60/16 tires on the front with 0 offset and I still rub on the fenders when turning. I even lowered the coilovers to 10mm above the tire but still rub. It does look badass though

I am calling my bank tomorrow to ask for a personal loan of $5k to pay off some debt and to finish the car I may use the RX7 as collateral (yes, I know but I might need it and don't care). If they approve, the fronts will get 225/45/16'sand the rear will get 255/65/16 MT drag radials. then I will use these cheap ass kuhmo's for burnout competitions at car shows (need to order 2 more of these wheels for this).

only thing keeping this car off the road now is -10an fuel lines, gas tank sump welding, brake lines, and welding in the motor mounts.

In the mean time, I will still like to attend a meet of somekind to give away the rest of these stock parts. As you know, I dont like making a profit for things and generally take a hit on everything (example is $800 turbo I sold for $200)

I am here to get info as best I can. in December I leave active service. When my truck is paid off in June, I am looking at 05 Shinka RX-8's. No clue why but it is the only one I like. I also wouldn't mind a score on a set of 2010+ tail lights from a RX8 to modify to fit in my RX7. And yes, I am competent enough to make it work, me thinks it will compliment the total look I am going for when I go widebody.

Now that is a guy I haven't seen in a long time. Yes, I promise to get her up and moving again. I am very glad I picked her up this condition (well for the most part anyway) if not then my problems would be much worse. Did you know that the SA lower links are only 1/4" bolts vs the FB 3/8"? I didn't know either until I had to drill them out at the most impossible angle.

After I get this beauty on the road, I am using some square stock and reinforcing the underchassis. and will finish off the cage. My goal is tons of power with street manors.

Nice setup. Your car is apparently a Christian.

Shawn,
I have a good friend that has stuck a LT1 in his FB and has it all about done other than he is burning fuel pumps left and right.
Should be a fun and nice setup once done.

I am running the A1000 fuel pump, I doubt I will have any issues with it.
