Oil catch can
I`m gonna install a oil catch can and dont know where to install it.
Does anyone have pictures of where they installed it and where you bought it? I really dont want a flashy catch can that stands out... |

What is the reason for this catch can? Does your engine blow oil out of the breather on the factory canister? I saw a rotary do that once and it had a bad oil seal.

I purchased a small can for my transmission. It's a can designed for racing go karts, so it's small and lightweight.

I broke my purge controll valve, so I`m gonna replace it with a catch can.
In the progress of removing the rats nest. Since I broke it I have capped the nipple on the UIM and the line going into one of the solenoids and just had a vacuum hose from the oil filler neck to the bottom of the car. Never seen any oil coming out from the hose, but i guess it`s better to have a catch can, so I can see if some oil have left the crackcase which would indicate a sealing problem right? catch cans are dumb. just route it back to the intake somewhere upstream from the turbo

I took that nipple and ran a vacuum hose to my transmission brace and just let it vent under my car...

so the purpose of a catch tank is to "filter" out all the condensation that occurs form running an engine hot then cold, hot then cold... or did I miss something... I have never understood why to have one... I remember hearing it will keep the oil out of the intake... but not sure at all about their function... and I'm not afraid to ask...
What do oil catch tanks do, other then 'catch oil in a tank' J.

I guess it`s because of if you are having a sealing problem and pressurize ur cranckcase the pressure will vent out. If you are using a catch can, or the original purge controll valve ---> Intake manifold is up to you. The reason why I will use a catch can is because then I can see in the can if I am having a sealing problem or not.
