Default Sunday Morning Mitty Caravan... To Road Atlanta!!!!

What is Mitty...

Quote:
The Classic Motorsports Mitty is a classic car event held annually at the Road Atlanta race track in Braselton, Georgia. Since the inaugural event in 1978, The Mitty has grown to become one of the largest classic car events on the East Coast of the United States.
What's so special about this year?

Quote:
Mazda is this year’s featured marque, marking the first time a Japanese brand will be honored at a vintage event. Jim Downing, the famed Mazda racer and inventor of the HANS device, will serve as grand marshal.
Quote:
Featured Marque: Our celebration of racing accomplishments would not be complete without the participation of our featured marque, Mazda. The 2011 Mitty will feature many of the incredible cars the company has built over the years. Expect to see several of the original Mazda race cars that have landed in the winner’s circle; these historic racing cars will be on display all weekend—when they’re not on track, of course. Be sure to look for many other Mazda surprises at The Mitty as well.
For this reason, some of the DGRR attendees (including myself) will be leaving early morning on Sunday to attend the Mitty and to help break the world record for most car on the track for a parade lap.

Quote:
Officials from the Guinness Book of World Records will be on hand to verify our attempt to create the world’s largest parade lap. We’ll need at least 683 Mazdas to make the claim, so we want you to be a part of it.

If you are interested in going to this on Sunday.. I'll have few extra tickets at a discounted price (about 5 extra - $15 each).

When are we leaving Nantahala Village (NVNC) and how long would it take?

We will leave NVNC at 6:30AM. It will take approximately 2 1/2 hours to Road ATL.

How about check out at NVNC?

If you are staying at NVNC, they have told me that you need to check out saturday night.

Any stops on the way to Road ATL?

We'll make one stop so people could use the restroom and top off the gas tank. I'll disclose the location where.. this way those who are leaving bit later can meet us there also. We'll make 15min stop at the gas station.

If you have any other questions, please post here!
