Default electrical connectors - function help

I lost my photos of when I tore down my car to replace a few items.

I can't remember if the white connector (behind the alternator) shown in the picture connects to anything. I can't see anything close that it should connect to.

I also found a connector jumpered near the air intake. Not sure why this is like this. any ideas?

Thanks in advance.

The white connector in the first photo looks like the 1-wire low coolant level sensor, it should go straight forward towards the front of thermostat housing. The wire on the low coolant level sensor tends to break easily, BTW.

The other connector looks like it is supposed to connect to a fan relay. There are only 3 relays visible in the photo, there should be 4.

1. your correct.

2. Wonder why I am missing one? I have never touched that. The previous owner kept the car stock and had a Mazda reman put in by a Mazda dealer.
I had the front engine cover / seal replaced by Rotary Performance. Wonder if they did it--why and if its no bueno why they didn't tell me about it.

Thanks for your insight.

The fan control relays on the FD have an odd arrangement. From the factory, they are wired in a way that will always activate both cooling fans together, but at three different speeds. The OEM setup will never activate just one fan by itself. I've posted a chart and diagram below... can post a longer explanation of the diagram if you'd like, but will try to be brief for now.

If Coolant Fan Relay No. 3 is bypassed (the Black wire would always connect to the Blue/Orange wire), the fan speed will be increased so it is always medium or high when the ECU activates the fans or the A/C switch is lit (when the cabin fan is on).

If any of the other relays are bypassed this could cause the fans to run even when the ignition key is off, which could drain the battery pretty quickly.
