Hello RCC members
Hello all. Let me first introduce myself, my name is Jim and I live in the great state of Wisconsin. I'm 30 years old, married and have a 5 month old son. I'm currently a business student after being laid off from my last job. With that out of the way, onto the car part.
I first got into rx7's/rotary engines in 2004 after finding out my 78 trans am was a pile of crap compared to my buddies 88' GTU. So I did what any logical person would; bought his car. After a few years I realized it was time for a little more power and bought a 90' GXL with a S4 TII in it. Over the last few years I've been tinkering around with it and did the cookie cutter BNR/Rtek set up. A picture tells a thousand words, so on with some pics. 88'GTU 90 GXL when I first got it Engine bay when I first got it. Currently looks like this Inside. This is some of the stuff I put in it: BNR Stage 3 modified turbo manifold (twin scroll removed) RTEK 2.1 ECU w/pocketlogger deatschwerks 750cc X 4 injectors Koyo aluminum N-flow radiator relocated rear iron coolant lines powder coated upper and lower intake manifold custom aluminum radiator brackets Samco silicon radiator hoses HKS D1 radiator cap(x2) HKS D1 oil cap front mount intercooler Vibrant perfomance couplers throttle body mod delete kyb agx adjustable shocks kyb lowering springs cp triangulated front strut tower brace cp rear strut tower brace apexi n1 muffler cat-less full 3" turbo back exhaust custom aluminum bov flange welded to piping apexi twin chamber blow off valve ACT XTG6 - Xtreme Sprung 6 Pad Disc Clutch Halman pro MBC duel alternator pully blitz turbo timer Walbro 255 LPH Fuel Pump autometer cobalt wideband o2 autometer 92mm boost gauge momo Prototipo steering wheel five point harnesses passenger and driver. mazdaspeed seats k&n air filter 4.30 rear gear manual steering rack banzai racing full block-off plate set. vibrant billet aluminum vacuum block pineapple racing CAS cover Interior removed, sound deadening included. battery relocation to center of the car Work equip wheels (staggered set-up) dunlop direzza dz101 tires mishimoto e fan with manual switch Home made radiator closing cover I absolutely love the rx7's and rotary engines, they are a huge part of my life. -Jim Last edited by eLetoR; 10-09-2010 at 04:42 AM.. |

It's kinda mint green, it also had some emerald flake in it also. I had a buddy powder coat all of it (all the black and green stuff) and I think it turned out pretty good
As far as weight goes it's 2499 the last time I scaled it. Not exactly what I was hoping it would be, oh well. I would like to get it down to around 2400. And thanks Rotordad, your car is amazing. I would love to some day wide body mine. |
