Alternative lodging suggestions?
As usual, I'll have to wait until the last minute (like about right now) to finalize my plans to attend the event this year. Still putting the car together from the winter "refresh", have to get things set up to run without me at work, and about a dozen other things that have to fall into line. But as of right now, it looks like this is a go for me.
Of course, by now all of the rooms at the Village are long gone, so I will have to find an alternative. I would like something nearby of course, maybe even closer to the Dragon if possible but I will consider anything within a 50 - 75 mile radius. Would like something nice, and a hot tub or jacuzzi is mandatory. And although any offers of sharing accommodations are greatly appreciated, I'm really looking for my own place. So, if anybody is familiar with the lodging options in the area, please speak up and give me a little guidance. Thanks for any help you can give me... .

We called the Village, and asked them for a recommendation. They recommended this place.
http://www.watershedcabins.com/ We're booked there now. Looks really nice, and appears to only be a few minutes away. We may have a spare bedroom in ours, not sure yet. Booked a 2-bedroom, but still up in the air if my friends car will be done in time or not.

You get a discount at the Microtel that's 15 min from NHV.
$71 a night I believe for a 2 bed room. I'm staying there, and a lot of the Florida RX7 guys are too I think. Just tell them your with the rotary car club for 10% off. Microtel 82 Songbird Forest Road Bryson City, NC 28713 (828) 488-7900 EDIT: it's like 11 min away... Google Map

We actually liked our cabin there so much, that we booked there again this year. (Bigger cabin this time.)
