They would take more power and time to spin up though, so any torque gains would be lost.

I would say its very light! But FWIW shouldn´t we talk about moment of inertia? Surely its big difference when the weight is in the middle or on the periphery of rotor? Maybe its not applicable in this example

No, not even remotely. If anything than it would be less torque.

Its just combustion pressure, rotor face area and effective distance covered during expansion what creates torque minus mechanical losses.

Today the E-shaft was left to it first grinding-session. Feels strange

I should add that I am not entirely alone in this with billet rotors.
My friend Gustav and I often get yelled at for talking more with each other, then our partner's when we are sitting with headsets and drawing SolidWorks at night
We have our visions. I want my 4rotor, and Gustav wants his "tired" 770hk 13B will go a bit better

Ok, now I have seen it all.

You are basically building your own, from scratch, 4 rotor engine.

Next time my parents go to Sweden to visit family, I'm going with them to come check out all this madness.

It's gonna be a dry-sump. I'm about to design my own dry-sump-cover at the moment. Will try to do as Mazda did and keep the pump into the front cover instead of havin a external pump with belts. More about that later on

RE: Image of center iron

Is that going to be a multi-piece iron?

Yes, the plates/irons are multi-piece-design. More info will come later
