So Im starting my search for an FD. Which means parts searching too. I browsed through the FD thread about things to look for in FDs and peoples fav parts but its all old.. This is going to be roughly a two year search unless I come across something I'd be crazy to pass up. That being said... any advice about things I should make sure to stay away from.. or parts that I should be looking for now that are "must have"?

^ not sure how picky you are with your interior but I would try and get one with nice interior. trying to replace broken stuff in the car gets expensive quick. hell everything on the car is expensive.

I would either get one that has a simple single kit or one that has working sequential.

stay away from ones with old school injectors that use resistors and ones that has a bunch of electronice. turbo timer, egt gauge, ebc, etc. they are wiring nightmares.

just try and start off with thr best fd you can. getting a crappy one ans fixing it adds up quick.

Interior is definitely something I would be on the look out for . I fought that battle with my FC. My mind is basically made up, that if it isn't stock, I don't want it. Im willing to spend a little money to get something nice. I just don't want one thats built already.

Yes, completely agree! On a different car but all the same, I had to add many interior pieces to the Celica that I sourced from different places, some of which I drove to pick up, driving as far as Akron, OH. This all adds up and leads me to the next comment. . .

Depending on the car you may not have much of a choice like my Celica but the 3rd Gen is still fairly obtainable, just keep your eyes peeled for the right one and like Johnny said. . Buy the best that you can afford because as with anything, this type of mentality will save you money in the long run (in most cases at least).

Good luck in you search, hope you find one ready to run for DGRR! !

Come to think of it... I don't think I would be opposed to getting one that had a blown engine if everything else was in good shape... having a new engine put in wouldn't be that bad..

Either buy a stock one or buy one that has a stand alone. PS, twins over all are a nightmare

Im sure if i emailed the guy he'd send pics and more info. Just doesn't seem like a bad price being that it has a fresh engine.
