I would think this is old news. I thought I saw a post that was relating to this issue.

RECALL #031/86 10/3/86 CPU Damage from Water Leak Some early RX7's have had CPU damage caused by water leakage. Symptoms include:
Leakage occurs around a metal flange (upper left inner body under left fender) Fix from Mazda:more sealant applied to area during production and protective coating added to inside of CPU. Field fix; sealant applied to area, replace CPU if damaged beyond cleaning. I have had to repair a few of these, I would think they have all been taken care of by now. Need to check CPU and fuse block for water damage also. Last edited by rx4ur7; 10-21-2009 at 01:04 PM. |

Is this area by the drivers door jamb where the door hinges mount? That's the only body rust spot I have and I am also experiencing the same issues.

			Thanks

Yes, up and forward of the top hinge. On the guys I did you could see where it was by using a light from the outside then looking up inside.
