UPDATE:

I am the luckiest son of a...

I brought the broken driveshaft to I-5 Driveline in Vancouver, WA. He took one look at it and showed me that they were non-serviceable u-joints. So the "new" u-joint wasn't new at all! Just so happened to have a first Gen RX-7 driveshaft sitting there in the shop (that's the lucky part). He put new Spicer u-joints in it, cleaned it, trued it, balanced it, painted it, and sent me on my way in under an hour for a very, very competitive price (cheaper then the quotes I've been getting for a used one shipped).

So the car is home, and now I'm trying to figure out how to get a Summit universal driveshaft loop in it (since I already have one).

I do have to say that I-5 treated me very, very well, and on the Saturday before Easter at that. Couldn't ask for an easier fix to my breakage!
