Default Synchronic BOV

I haven't found much on this forum about them so let the discussion begin. Has anyone used these on a "vented to atmosphere" MAF setup (ie second gens)??

From a video I watched I thought I saw that it didn't close until under boost which would be bad... but I like the way it sounds because it is just a release of air, no high pitched noises.

I have it on my MAF-ed RX8; you need to recirc it - and it works like a charm.

I love it; I have one on my 8, my MS6, and I have installed 3 more here in Hawaii... I will never use another blow off valve.

I know very little about them, however I did hear positive things about the brand, as well as good reviews of this product. I remember someone having fitting issues because the valve is a little bigger in length than most units, so you need to take clearance into consideration.

I would like to see more info on these, I am considering converting to a turbocharged setup sometime within the next two years.

From what I've read, boost keeps it closed and relys on boost to shut it, meaning its open at idle and needs a filter. So, this would be ok for a MAP only setup but for second gens with a MAF it would be unmetered air. Their website sells an accessory which has a spring to keep the valve closed but changes the sound to a more high pitched noise, which I don't want... Anyone confirm this?

If you recirculate the BOV then that is not an issue - don't put the anti stall on it since you lose the MPG savings you get when the BOV is open at idle and cruise.

Not a BOV, but I've used their wastegate, and it's freaking fantastic. My 12a jumped from 224rwhp at peak to 238rwhp after installing the wastegate, and more impressively, the average torque over the entire 2000-7000rpm band went up 20 ft/lbs.

I plan on using their Wastegate, BOV, and FPR on my next build.

You can get it from Black Halo Racing too.

They are a vendor here.
