No no, you're not crazy.
They have their purpose. I'm running MMR's (same design basically, just with harder material) and I can flat out tell you that the solid AL blocks I ran before easily made 50% more vibration in the cabin. My reason/need for going that route on my street car was keeping the engine in place. Sure there's other ways, but its my car damnit
