Default My 38K mile 93 SSM build

Ok guys and gals, a lot time planning for this day and it has finally come. I have owned the car for a bit over a year now. Bought it with 36K on it and well really have not driven it due to this work not being done.

My stock 93 SSM with 38k stock miles getting some work to make her last longer. Keep in mind I am not looking for HP but more dependable good power.

Once complete here is what will be done and staying Sequential. I will be trying to take pics of everything done and will be posting them.

So first to come....... my car in stock trim currently with:
SSR rims
Front cross drilled rotors
Petit AST - coming off going AST delete
New Poly motor mounts
Stainless Steel Brake lines
Eibach springs
99 Spec rear lamps
RB single tip cat back
Xcessive alum oil pan - Coming off going back to stock

Dang, 38k miles? Very nice. I like what you've got planned too.

Note the second pic on the driver side frame rail from where the battery sits.hard to get to area to keep clean. Well I will have to clean that up before the motor goes back in.

pictures of motor out and the frame rails painted in a black bed liner coating to help with rust/scratches. There was a seem that I followed to keep it uniform on both sides.

Time to replace every water hose under the hood (those that I will be keeping) all gaskets, studs/nuts on turbos and some other small odds and ends. Ray at Mazda sent me a box of goodies for almost $700 needed to do this work.

Default Turbo work

Here are some before pictures once the turbos were pulled off. See all the cracks and where the gasket sits. Now to basically gasket match the turbos and that will help with some cracks. The others will have to be welded.

Turbo worked performed by Garfinkle Motor Works (Thanks David)

You can see the cracks have been welded, some grinding has been done, and see the black spots in the flat surfaces (low spots due to warping). Those will be resurfaced to get some/most of that taken out.

Here are those pics

My cheap Radiator that I had to modify the shroud to fit. Had to use bolts and nuts to mount it on the bottom and had to open up the holes on the shroud top sine it all was not lining up perfect.
Then I had to notch the shroud since the upper tube was at a different angle over the stock location (seen in the next group of pics).
If you buy one of these keep in mind that its not a direct drop in nor does it have a drain or a line for the AST.

If I would had known about this up front I would have spent more for the right one.
But again $150 for this was not too bad even with the mods I had to do.

See you decided to pull the motor. Makes the work you are doing a lot easier. David is the turbo porting master. Work looks great.
