The event is scheduled to begin at 11 and end by 4.

Over this past “Rolex Series” race season we have discussed with Mr.Jon Mirachi, owner of Racers Edge Motorsports, the possibility of having his team get involved in a Rotary4Life event. Since Rotary4Life is rotary race inspired website we decided that it would be a great experience for enthusiasts to see what makes a Rolex team competitive. On December 6th, Mr. Mirachi will be opening his doors to us and would like to share the experience of his Rolex team.



Who is Racers Edge?
“Racers Edge Motorsports is a professional auto racing team with a long history of success dating back to our first season of competition in 1990. Our team has won championships in every race series we have participated in, including four professional championships and seven amateur titles. A small, close-knit company, Racers Edge Motorsports is a full service organization with expertise in all aspects of race team operations; from mechanical preparation, chassis engineering, data analysis and driver development, to the design and execution of motorsports marketing programs. For the 2008 racing season, our team will compete in the Grand-Am Rolex Series, which is a series of sports car endurance races which vary in length from 2 to 24 hours (most notably the 24 hours of Daytona). "We will compete for the championship in a specially built, race prepared Mazda RX-8.



What have they done to their car?
First and for most, it is a purpose built race car, not just a street car converted. Racers Edge has produced a car that boasts these main features: a strong tube frame chassis, lightweight carbon fiber body and interior, 425 hp aluminum 3-rotor rotary engine, 6-speed sequential shift transmission, all of which weighs in at a mere 2,288 lbs.

What will we be doing at there facility?
As of right now we will have access to tour the new Racers Edge facility, participate in a tech talk and demonstration on the car as well as a tech talk and overview of data acquisition and how they use the collected information. Discussions about suspension setup, tire pressures, corner weighting, etc will also be going on too. Racers Edge will be providing food and refreshments for everyone to enjoy.

We have had several companies come forward beyond what Racers Edge is investing, who are pledging to make this a killer event. These sponsors include Idemitsu Racing Oils, Mazda, Polak Graphics, Aceleracion al Maximo radio (1160AM in Orlando), and more to be announced. We expect that you will have a great time.

There is still more to come that is currently being discussed, but we would like you guys to plan on coming out and enjoy yourselves. Let us know who plans on attending so we can make Racers Edge can accurately plan. When we start seeing a lists of commitments form on the various sites, we'll consolidate and post them here too.

How very cool! Welcome to the club and thanks for the Invitation...I might have to ask one of our Digizine members stop by and talk to you all.

Glad to see more RX8 people joining the club. I am a bit too far for this event but will try to make it to next season's CA events and attempt to get in touch with a few teams. Again, Welcome to the club and I hope to read more about the team and cars.
