Default Rebuilding Rear Wiper motor

I'll make this quick:
Rear wiper motor in the hatch never worked while I've had the car. Worked on it a little bit one day then when I closed the hatch it did one sweep before turning off again and never turning on. I've checked the power to the motor and it test strong and correct. I've tested the motor via resistance and it measured fine. I broke the motor apart and looked at the brushes and everything else to make sure it was mechanically sound. One bush seemed to have seen a spark or something as there's a little divot in it, while the other one seems perfectly acceptable.

I went ahead and ordered another used motor and i've tested it as well. The condition of it was unknown and seems to be in fair working order. No obvious malfunctions in the brushes. However it does look like it's seen some water seepage. It does not function even though it's getting power from the connection.

Any ideas on what I should do or check or how I can rebuild the original motor?

Which makes perfect sense. They are sacrificing safety either way. lol

So it is getting power, it functions, but it doesn't work?

I'm a little confused, and believe you have a bad switch.

No. I checked it. It's fine. Fully lubed.

No. The motor does not function. It is getting power to the motor. The switch is fine. The motor itself has continuity, however it's not rotating. Thus the motor isn't functioning. I believe it's a fubared brush. It has a portion of the brush that has what appears to be a location where either an arc or spark created a gap so it's not contacting the appropriate slip rings. I'll take it out and play with it a little more but I'm trying to focus on a few tests I have coming up as well as rebuilding an FD alternator.

Do what I did when my wiper went out. Its easy.

-Remove hatch with wiper attached
-Throw hatch in the trash
-Install wiperless hatch (usually from an 86-88 base)
-Remove wiper switch with rear wiper function
-Install wiper switch from same non-wiper car you got the hatch from

Easy

Nah, too heavy for a lone gun man to do.
