I hear ya Kevin...

Well, I think you are right about the TB.. I was able to start it in the first try by cranking the engine and as soon as it starts, tap the gas and starts fine.

I been working on the 7 all week and got it finished last night.. I'm going to start working on the 8 today. We'll see..

Jonathan, Hmm.. its tempting But I dont think wife will go for it..

I did that same thing (start and immediately tap the gas) and today the engine light came on

But the car drove fine to work. I really need to take the TB out and clean it... I might to that tonight.

Thanks Kevin! I have no clue about these OBD junk

I have a friend who owns a shop and I think he has one for his shop. I'll head down there and check it out.

If I have time today, I'm going to take the TB out and give it a cleaning.

What do you think about purge solenoid? I noticed its covered in dirt!!

Problem SOLVED!!!!

It was in fact TB!! I took it off and inside looked like SHIT! Tons of Carb build up!! I sprayed bunch of Carb cleaner and I started to see the opening when flap was down.

I think the problem was that not enough air was getting in during cold start.

I reset the ECU and started this morning and cranked right up and idled perfect!! Now, I need to decide if I should still sell the damn thing or keep it..

I know! I took it out for a test drive after work and man! Did it drive so much better! Idled and it actually felt more responsive. I got it up to about 110 on the interstate and the car felt great!

This is what I'm going to do Every year...

1. New Plugs
2. New Coils
3. New Wires
4. Clean air filter
5. Clean TB

Its about $300 maintenance cost but I think its worth it if it give me worry free drive

Noted for future reference.

Do you really need to replace the coils that often?

Can they be relocated so the engine heat doesn't accelerate their wear? Like the FD guys.
