Oil sender replacement

yea i remember something about that and will search. I hope it did not. But the car runs fine, no codes etc. So I am hoping that it didn't fry something on the ECU. But the condenser/cap thing is next on my list.

Actually, it's a broken connection...
High resistance means high on the gauge.
"Short" would imply resistance goes to zero, and that would cause the gauge to sit at "0" all the time.
Sounds like a broken wire somewhere.
