Housing refurbishing
I have several sets of the Aluminum Housings that are marginally usable ... is there a place to get them re-chromed , or Cermet Coated , or something ?? ... also , what would determine a usable housing for this process ??

Warpage, compression, corrosion, deap cuts, etc. Go to PineApple http://www.pineappleracing.com/ and view the video on how to inspect housings. |

One set has a small groove where the side seals were touching the housing face , and the other it appears that an apex seal gouged it ... I didn't know if some filler could be added then resurfaced to be within Spec again , or should I just buy new or usable used housings ??

If you do decide to go with new housings check out RHDJapan.com
https://www.rhdjapan.com/jdm/Mazda-O...-13B-REW-12978 They have good pricing usualy, also check with Ray Crowe at Malloy, I'm not sure what his current pricing on housings is but he also has very good pricing. Or one more option they are trying to start a group buy for housings with RHDJapan you could possibly wait and get a really good deal through that. http://www.rotarycarclub.com/showthread.php?t=541 |
