One of our Current Rx7 Projects "The Lady"
For those old enough to remember Airwolf, we were given "The Lady" to rebuild. When we first picked up this car, it looked as though it had been parked in the sea! It was probably the worst Rx7 I had seen for rust, however a project is a project....and a little bit of rust shouldn't stand in the way of what can be achieved!
The brief was quite simple...and just for once brief! Get the car up to a standard where I can gain some joy from driving it again. So this is what we have done. This is the car as we received it. It was as you can see looking pretty sorry for itself Dents in the doors, wings, the bumper had been knocked against a curb, and the interior...was something to behold! The previous owner had lavished it with some gold wrap...which was just disgusting! The door was un-recoverable, so we sourced a new one and then set to getting the wheels done. They were a tad rusty, pitted and scuffed and certainly not as should be! One of the finished wheels, having repaired and polished the rims and powder coated the centres...replaced all of the bolts Last edited by MinotaurRacing; 11-28-2013 at 06:57 AM.. |

Next was stripping down the car. we had already supplied the strut brace for the front and both the rear harness bar, harnesses and battery box. You will probably start to notice the purple theme as the build goes on!

Time to mock up the new intercooler and radiator. We use an extremely efficient core, and then make the end tanks ourselves along with pressure testing them and fitting our own brackets.
Finally she is ready on the dolly to head for paint. All of the proprietary work has been completed, so once she is back...just a case of build |

Our new bumper we made for the car.
The dip comes from not being bolted all along the front leading edge. Shut lines around the edges are fantastic, so really happy with the way it has come out of the mould. |

Lastly for the moment. The door shuts, engine bay and under wing sections have all been painted the silver flip paint. This looks very impressive, and is going to look stunning when the sunny weather decides to show itself
Rest of the bodyshell being painted for delivery next week. Then the rebuild can start! |

This looks like shots from the first half of a Wheeler Dealer episode.
Looking forward to the broadcast of the 2nd half.

it is a good build, however we are at the mercy of the painters at the moment...and so out of our hands, but it has given us time to finish off the 2 MG ZS race preps we are doing at the moment and also The two sides to our business |
