Default Rear Hatch Fire Extinguisher Mount PRE-RELEASE SALE

Every Rx-7 owner should have some sort of fire suppression in their vehicles. An unsecured fire extinguisher in the cabin can become an extremely dangerous projectile in the event of an accident.

We have nearly completed the rear hatch mount for our quick release fire extinguisher mount! In the next week or so we will be offering a pre-sale of this product at a discounted rate! Please feel free to post your interest, questions, comments, criticisms here

The rear hatch extinguisher mount is a nice alternative/addition to our passenger seat mount.

Below is what the extinguisher will look like when mounted. It's easily removable if extra space is needed in the hatch.

Thoughts, comments, suggestions?

-Dan

I'd consider buying one of these for my 7 since I have my extinguisher laying alongside clutter in the passenger side storage bin (not easily readily available) but unfortunately I have a 2nd Gen

That was our goal...We're hoping to hit the $150-$175 price range.

Not sure where you came up with that number... With an extinguisher yes it will be around $300, but the mount and quick release will be no where near that.

The boot is a terrible spot for an extinguisher, it should be in arms reach because if my cars on fire I don't want to have to be opening the boot and running to the back of the car first.

Agreed. They already sell a seat mount that mounts to the OEM passenger seat and can be easily accessed while sitting in the drivers seat. Unfortunalely, that option only works if you still have OEM seats.

The trunk mount is an alternative if you have aftermarket seats and dont have a roll cage, or it could be used to hold a second extinguisher.

What he said ^ Below is what our passenger seat mount looks like installed. The seat retains it's full range of motion and does not interfere with passengers legs.

Accessing the extinguisher in the rear hatch should only add a few seconds to the process. We will be making videos to demonstrate removal of each with a timer.

This safety mod is a small price to pay compared to the price of a whole new car, and countless hours of labor. We all take pride in the cars we've built or are in the process of building, yet so many of us don't believe a fire can destroy what we've built in minutes.

One of our customers lost his recently finished 02 FD after an engine fire consumed the entire car. He was nice enough to send us before and after pictures. Needless to say he's purchasing both of our mounts to ensure his new FD doesn't suffer the same fate.

Before (Beautiful, freshly painted 02 FD):

After (Crispy BBQ 02 FD ):
