Panic attack in 4,3,2,.. OMGOMGOMG.
So, There's a chance that I am able to sell my FD for $13,000
with all these things, SS Brake Lines, Aluminum AST, Blitz NUR Spec Exhaust, HKS Turbo timer, SSR Rims wrapped in brand new BFG KDW's. I am planning on buying another FD, except this time also buying a JCESE, or JCES with it, so when it gets here, I can do a 20B swap, and sell the 13B. Thoughts and feelings everyone?

Sell FD, buy Acura RSX.
Drift RSX, stop posting here. Win for us, you get to hang with a car crowd that is more on your level. Success all around!

No. Because it will never get done.
You'll sell the FD, buy these other cars, pull the engine and sell it, then start on a 20B swap, never finish, and ruin 2 cars in the process. Since you already have an FD, just 20B swap it. IF you have $20K in cash to do it as we speak. If not, piss off.

*shrugs*..
Well,.. you guys totally ruined my good mood, so, a big fuck you all around. Anyways,.. I was checking out the prices of cars in Japan, which Canadians can import, I can score a new FD for less than $2k, I can score a JCES or JCESE for less than $2k, and shipping will be around $3k... possibly more depending on how I do it. How in the fuck does anyone calculate $20k for a 20B swap? SERIOUSLY, SHOW ME THE MATH. The FD's I am looking at are accident, damage, rust free, with high KM's, and the JCES/JCESE's are also high KM's, as I will have to re-build either way. I'm stoked to see if the sale of my FD goes through or not, and even if it doesn't, I'm stoked as all hell for summer to drive again.

Do us all a favor: sell your FD, hopefully the guy buying it won't be as retarded as you. (hint: a turbo-timer on twins is fucking stupid) Quote:

have you talked to any of the 20B FD owners?
but... to start, let me just throw some ideas out to you... are you wanting to do a 20B swap cleanly and reliably? or just throw it in there and hope for the best? what turbo set up will you run? what are your power goals? any porting? who will rebuild the engine? hope that "low mileage" JDM engine doesn't need any engine hardware... what about balancing the engine? (again, power goals of the car?) which swap kit will you be going with? ECU? tune? transmission? rear end? IC setup? exhaust fab? ignition system? now, once you've decided the increase power from the engine, what do you plan to do with the car? shame to spend the time and $$ on all the engine work to leave the suspension old and worn out... anyway, just some initial questions to ask yourself about undertaking the 20B swap... because unless you do swaps often, they will always take more time and money than you originally think...

I love people who think swaps are easy , I have done more swaps "correctly" than i'd like to admit to .Never done a 20b swap ,but I do know most swaps are a pain in the ass and are a major time investment .Hope you do your homework before you just start buying parts . It's funny to me because the 510 crowd love to do swaps and most of them look like shit . Every one is a fabricator these days but few are good fabricators .

Well there was certainly no time wasted jumping on DriFD3s.
If I may add a word or two.. I am curious why this member is being bashed for his enthusiasm towards RX-7s. Sure he could have looked in to matters a little more but in the end, is a discussion about the topic not going to give better results? I happen to know this member in real life and it doesn't take more than a couple minutes of conversation to realize that he is as enthusiastic and good-natured in real life as his posts on this forum let on. Regardless if there have been times in the past (as suggested) that a topic could have used a little more research effort on DriFD3S's part - it is really not difficult to just ignore his posts. If it were as big of a deal as you let on, a forum administrator would do something about it. Evan, (this is Mitch by the way - sure the username was a clear giveaway but anyways..) You ask how the 20B swap will end up running 20k? I wish someone could show me because I would honestly be expecting a fair bit more than that. The engine alone will cost around $4000. I would be hard pressed to use this miled out engine which you don't know the history of for a build. Meaning - rebuild. Expect $6000 or more for a rebuild including labor and parts, tack on an extra 1500 for upgraded seals, and porting. If you did this yourself it would obviously cut down the cost but a 20B rebuild isn't exactly high-level. You would have to pay to ship the block to and from - or get Conroy to do it I suppose (not to speak negatively but I haven't heard of him building 3-rotors. Although I'm sure it is much the same, experience with the exact subject is always a +). You need to modify the subframe, say $1500, you need a new turbo manifold +set up if you planned on ditching the twins (which is heavily advised) which will cost about $4000, fuel setup, and ell the electronics - wiring, tuning etc. A swap is SO much easier said then done. And almost 99% of the time, it will not be problem + hassle free and you will have problems that just wont go away. Not to discourage but just really think this through before you decide to go this route. It's a very VERY long road. Not to mention that there is nothing wrong with your current car. It's an fd3s that works in tip top shape. I should be jealous of you right now!! Anyways - that was just my second post on this forum. I'm going to take a break before getting flamed + banned.

Mitch, just to let you know anyone selling a 20B for more than $3000 is a crook,
I have yet to see a 20B-REW Eunos Cosmo JCESE or JCES get sold for more than $3000. and that's the whole fuckin' car... I'll show you online one day, you'll be amazed. Anyways, I appreciate the support man, it means a lot to me, so thank you. I hope we can get together sometime, message me on FB, and we'll set something up!
