March 2011 FD of the month
Congrats to our March FD of the month!
Supernaut Location: Edgewater NJ Q: Congratulations for winning Ride of the Month! Tell us about how you acquired this car? I purchased this car from some fairly veteran member for a great price at the time. The compression on the motor was 119 - 121psi but the chassis itself was pretty unimpressive. Exactly what I needed for my project! Q: Favorite stretch of road to drive your car on (location)? Deals Gap! Q: Whats the biggest reason you chose a rotary powered car to modify? Along with staying true to the replica, I just found the rotary to be more fun. Everything about it seems to be tailor made for excitement. Q: What are the future plans on this car? Picking up Spirit R seats, installing the Spirit R engine bay tag, maybe installing the Spirit R ABS. I'm currently getting a high flow cat and RB duals installed. After that, the car should be finished. Finally. Q: What was the worst and best memory of this project? My worst memory was having electrical problems in Manhattan after the car was finished from the bodyshop. Water temps were inching to uncomfortable levels (fans seemed to not come on). I called Rich to help me out and he drove from NJ to meet me in the city. Rich and I had to wait till 3am for the flatbed to get there and in the end they told me that they wouldn't be able to load the car up without damaging it. Rich managed to drive the car to his place and flatbed it the next morning. Thanks IRP! My best memory was getting the car back from Enzo Racing. After an almost year long hiatus, the car finally had a reliable tune. The car felt great and I was able to enjoy it without any worries. Q: Any other hobbies besides cars? Not anymore. I no longer have a life now. Q: Anyone you'd like to thank? Tons of people. So many people have gone above and beyond to help me. For now, I guess I would have to thank the most obvious people. IR Performance. Q: Anything in the pipeline for another ROTM win? Nope, not at all. After the car is complete, I imagine interest in the car will probably dwindle, Haaa. I do have an LS2 FD coming soon.
