those seats are NOT gonna cut it if you plan to generate any real grip. go for a kirkey/ultrashield roadrace seat, they hold amaaazing, and are comfy are cheap.

they actually have really deep swells and with the 5pt harnesses im going to run they will hold me perfect and are alot cheaper lol (budget build kid one the way means not so much money for car)

Looking pretty good man. I love track car builds. Those seats will probably work fine, definitely better than the stockers and if nothing else, it'll get you through til you get the time/funds to upgrade.

What type of racing/class are you aiming for?

I would think the plastic would be slick? Also go 6pt harness, unless you like crunching your nuts so that you can eliminate the possible hip-rotation that a 5-pt makes possible.

IMO, leg support is an important often overlooked feature in a race seat. most street "race" seats have none, only the real stuff does (because it makes getting in/out of the car a PITA). with proper leg support, you have MUCH more control over throttle/braking while turning. esp throttle.. which kinda matters when you have power. you may be ok with NA 13b.

example-

Sparco Evo, not a race seat. These are horribly popular for some reason, and dont support you where it counts.

Cobra Suzuka, race seat. your knees wont go anywhere. Same with racetech/kirkey/sparco corsa/etc.

ok that is all lol. not trying to rain on your parade, its just something people dont think about until they've driven a proper seat.

I disagree actually. I've used many Sparcos, Recaro and Momo seats.... I'm with you on the seats that have better leg support... but stating that the Sparco Evo is not a "race" seat is incorrect. It's extremely popular due to its size and comfort for the driver.

Not to rain on anybody's parade, but every person is different and not every seat fits every preference.

Looking good man. Since you're on a budget, I'll give you a couple of cheap ideas to gain you a little more power, at least in the gears you'll be using for autoX.

1. 2nd gen direct fire ignition mod. Very simple and easy to install, great increase in driveability and throttle response. Slight hp increase. Cost as low as 20 bucks

2. Add an Efan. I like the 1st gen MR2 fans (dual) because they mount up very easily, can usually be found cheap (I got mine for 20 bucks), and will free up a bit of power and torque in 1st/2nd gears.

Also, I just wanted to add, I always did just fine with the stock seats. The trick is to pull the seat belt very tight, then stomp the brakes to lock it in that position. I usually do this as I'm pulling up to the start. Do it right and it will hold you tightly in place.

.
