Have anybody have issue with the oil control rings?

Racing tech for Drag All tech stuff relating to Drag racing... Please, Don't talk about street racing.. It will be pulled and multiple offender will be BANNED!

Ok my friend ran a 9.6x with 122mph which he let off due to massive smoke and oil dumped on the track. He thought it is the turbo which only has only afew hours on the dyno and one pass at the track. There is mininum shaft play on the turbo and when he opened the motor everything seems ok. I don't think the turbo is the problem but rather the oil rings or springs to blame.Does any racer out there every have this problem?
